Why, hello there, Mr. Frog...

Her, actually - it's a girl according to my girls ;)

Her name is "OEI" (pronounced Oh. E. I. Just the letters.
no sounding out of anything.) She was named by Zoe about 6 years
ago. I have no idea where she came up with a name like that!

What a Sony Cybershot charger can do to your WALL.

This was because of a fire that a Sony Cybershot camera
battery charger caused.

This is the aftermath.

Thankfully - no one was hurt, and my husband is awesome.

and magic eraser took that *right* off the wall ;) after my
wonderful husband fixed the wires, and replaced the outlet
and the wallplate!

Kayleigh, while Doug was looking for upcoming shows on the tv. "You mean this is what's going to be on TV if Jesus doesn't come?" Zoe said, "He's going into the future!"
Overheard in Wal Mart tonite: Christa says to Kayleigh, "I know one of the rules. Don't kill people. But you can kill bears."
I asked Zoe if she wanted to learn a little more about electricity while we were at the science museum, she says to me: "Mommy I don't like electricity. It's not 'shocking' to me."
Christa got tired of keeping track of the various apple technologies, so she just asks daddy for his 'i-thing' lol
Christa wrote a note to me that said: "Mommy I love u" and handed it to me saying, "Mommy, I love you. Remember this when you are a granny, and when I am old. I love u." :D
Christa shouts while she's palpating her foot from her seat in the back of the van: "MOMMY! I think I have a stray bone in my foot!"
Kayleigh says to her older sister: "Zoe, be careful on that swing, you don't want to break your skeleton."
Kayleigh the other day: "People like the red light. They stop to look at it."
Christa says today to her sisters: "This game says it's for 4 years old and up. I am 4, and you both are up."
Zoe loves to write notes. This one found at my laptop last night after they were put to bed: "Let us have one last LAST chance (I'm BEGGING!!) of watching a movie!! Please!! Write back when ya get this letter."
I overheard raised voices in the other room. I said, "What's going on in there?" I hear Christa say, "We're fighting." Oh, ok. Is that all? She gets extra points in my book for being honest. lol.
Christa was walking around the yard holding her sister's bible open. She saw me and says, "Mommy! Zoe taught me how to read and now I'm on Chapter 12!" lol!
I was expaining to the girls today that old adage about 'two wrongs don't make a right' and Kayleigh chimes in: "Yeah, but they make things fair." She's a challenge, but I did answer her with, "It's not always good to do what's fair, but what's RIGHT. Some things can be right and fair, and some can be right but seem unfair." Touchee Kayleigh. *whew, another saved by the Spirit* no one told me parenting would be this challenging!
Zoe says she makes a 'human wash' in the tub - there are machines that do all the work and she's on a conveyer belt. LOL
Kayleigh - in trying to figure out how long 10 mins is, after her sister says to count to 60 ten times, replies: "Why don't we just count to 10, 6 times?"
Kayleigh says to me this morning, "I don't want to build my character. I want it to stay broken." Gotta love her candor!
the girls were told to clear the table tonite after dinner, and 'help mom' and Kayleigh decided that her 'help' was this: "Mommy, I am going to stand up here (on the landing to the stairs near the kitchen) and make music to lift everyone's mood. *playing air guitar/air instruments and singing* Yeah, Kayleigh, that's not what we had in mind....LOL
learning the scripture "..and Jesus saw their faith" Zoe wrote out: and Jesus SOLVED their faith.... tee hee! I liked it :)
the girls crack me up. they were sent up to bed and told to call the weather and lay out clothes for tomorrow. They did that and then called their daddy on his cellphone, It took me a minute to realize who he was talking to on the phone!
Kayleigh says, "How do you spell better?" I say sound it out. "B" I say "Good job" and this continues...till about the 5th letter, Then Kayleigh says sweetly but exasperatingly, "What am I spelling again??"
Doug asks Christa, "Did you eat the chocolate bunny without asking mommy?" Christa's response: "It was by accident."
Kayleigh says: "I broke my pencil. Where's the tape?" There's a picture I took of her method to 'sharpen' her pencil. She puts transparent tape over the pencil point and the pencil.
We are learning a little bit about the scientific method, and Roger Bacon (who is credited as one of the earliest european advocates of the method) and Kayleigh looks at me ever so seriously and interrupts me to say: "Mommy! Did he do science experiments with bacon?" It took me a LOOONG t...ime to be able to talk about Bacon again without chuckling.
Kayleigh cracks me up. A while ago I tell everyone that we have to get back to school work. Kayleigh looks up at me and with a very serious face says, "I am allergic to school." (which is only funnier to me because she has the most allergic child of our three and knows it...)
Christa comes and asks me today, "Mommy, why don't you get a tattoo? You could get a princess! You could get Ariel, Snow White, Eyeball..." Whaaa?,
just caught Zoe doing her schoolwork and eating cheeseballs. She was picking up the cheeseballs with the end of her pencil to get them to her mouth. Ew.
listening to the girls play with a deck of cards, "Do you have a heart 4?" "Do you have an arrow 5?" lol
An eraser was left on the floor and the dog to it and chewed it up. Upon asking who left the eraser on the floor, Kayleigh replies, "Mommy, it just had babies. I wanted it to have babies."
Kayleigh commented at Wal Mart yesterday, "We used to buy that here, until we met Costco." How appropriate Kayleigh! LOL
Walkin tonite I was telling Zoe how to get Samps' focus back to her. I said say, "Sampson, Heel, Come," Zoe said, "Samps!, Here Boy,.." Kayleigh chimes in and says, "Lunch." We all giggled incessantly. I wish I could express how impeccable her delivery is: monotone, timely, usually engaged in something else -She's like... a Steven Wright girl.
Zoe explaining to her younger sister says, "Taxes. That's when you pay more for something than it should be." Right on Zoe, right on.
Christa says to me, "I want to kiss your teeth Mommy!" I said, "No."
Doug says to me: "Thanks for making dinner." Kayleigh replies, "Thanks for eating it." LOL!
Christa was asked if she needed some neopsporin for her cut. She replied, "Yes, Mommy, I need a Sporin."
Christa had the globe in her hands and was looking at it and asking where "Friendly's" was on the globe! Bwaa haaaahaa!
Chista just got a strike playing Wii bowling, and said, "Yeah Mommy, it's called a CHICKEN!" referring most likely to the fact that three strikes in a row are referred to as a 'Turkey' ROFL!
Kayleigh said as we passed by the Super 8 motel the other night, "That is the Super 8 motel. It used to be the Super 7 motel."
Zoe says, "Mommy, I am not crying, that's just tears from my eyes." as said while helping to saute the onions in the frying pan!
Driving into Costco parking lot today Christa saw a woman pushing a cart with a pretty large fern plant in it. The fern stood probably 10 feet high with the added height of the cart. Christa commented, "Mommy! That's a very big carrot!!" ROFL!!!!!!!
Christa (3) while drinking her milk says. "Mommy, all this milk makes me want to go potty."
Christa was looking in the microscope at soil and commented how it looked like the planets!
Kayleigh called her sister an 'odd' name at the playplace today at the mall. She called Zoe, "Buffalo Face" ??!?!! Where does she get this stuff???

Things I love about my husband....

he has good financial sense and wants the best for us!!
he invites us to business trips with him :D and lets us play in the hotel pool at leeeength
he brings me home *wings*
he has been teaching me how to relaaaaaaaaaax
he's earned so much respect in my eyes for working so hard for his family
he works hard so I can be at home with our girls
he's completely irresistably adorable!
he sometimes helps clean the kitchen :D
he shares my dreams
he loves me
he's a great worker with a terrific work ethic
he keeps our 5 computers 'happy'
he looks *great* in his new glasses
he keeps me on my toes ;D
he's great at his job
he's a terrific provider
he's a great tickle monster, but shhh don't tell the children!
he's so great with our children!
he's absolutely adorable
he's hilarious! makes me laugh all the time!

Our Family Funnies

While washing Doug's truck, Doug and I were on one side of the truck and the girls were on the other side, and we couldn't see them. We heard Zoe say, "DAMN!" !!!!??!? Doug and I just looked at each other in disbelief! Then Doug called her over, and asked her what she had just said. She looked at him sheepishly and said - "Damn" ?!?!? Doug asked her why she had said that, and her reply was: "We were building a dam on the other side of the truck with the water from the hose..." well... there ya go. You do have to ask! It's been a giggle for Doug and I since then! DAM!
Kayleigh told Doug that he needed to get the 'E-Harmony' thing for me...it's a matching service to find a mate! ROFL!
Zoe said to me this morning, "Mommy, the best thing about having fish - because they are such a boring pet, more boring than a dog - is when they get old and die and then you can get them out and flush them down the toilet."
Christa had a small sweet baby pea stuck up her nose. I am so glad our pediatrician knew a trick: if you can close off the other nostril and blow really hard in the mouth and the pea will come SHOOTING out and hit you in your face ;) Lesson: don't turn your back during dinner and instruct *each* child to assure they understand that nostrils and sinuses are for air and boogers *ONLY*!
Kayleigh kept repeating the "Pray without ceasing" as "pray without seasoning" lol and then she'd say things like "pray without cinnamon, pray without garlic...' lol
One of our scripture memory verses this week is "Pray without ceasing" and when Zoe read it, she read it "Pray without SEIZING" Doug and I laughed...it's true I guess though, you should pray without seizing if you can help it...
Kayleigh says, "Mommy, can we do that 'Walk Away The Pounds' DVD? That will probably help you get skinnier..." :P
Christa told me yesterday that she didn't want the tube yogurt I was offering her in the van, she said, "Mommy, I am too messy with yogurts." LOL
Christa, after I made the comment that food is to help your body grow, promptly and very matter of factly said, "Mommy, my body doesn't want to grow any bigger."
When we are driving in the van and going down hills, the girls all throw their hands up in the air, straight up, and yell "whhheeeeeeeeeeeee" like they are on a roller coaster. It really is funny, because with them all beings strapped in to five point harnesses they *really* look like they are on a coaster!
Kayleigh told me something I found funny this afternoon. After I reminded her of something she is supposed to remember, I mentioned to her that sometimes it's frustrating for mommy to have to keep reminding her of something. Her remark to me was, "Mommy, it's frustrating to me that I keep forgetting." HA! Good answer!
Kayleigh had some things tucked in between her bed and the wall. I asked her why they were there. She promptly replied, "They are there in case of an emergency, I have a blanket, an extra teddy bear, some books..." LOL!
Zoe said tonite on the trampoline, "Shhhh, I think I hear a Katydid!" Kayleigh: "Who's Katy?"
Christa, remarking about something in the "Pirates Who Don't Do Anything" Veggie Tales movie said, "Mommy, then they'd be dead.....for the rest of their lives!" ?!?! Guess we'll have to work a little on that concept....
I've been 'painting' Christa's nails with some nasty tasing stuff to deter thumb sucking. Today when I was putting it on she said, "Mom, paint my toenails." I said, "No - this isn't paint for your toenails" Then she said, "Yes, mommy, it's for my toes, I suck my toes when I am upstairs. Really mommy!" :P bleck! LOL!
Christa (3) had been caught after writing on her 'hind parts' as well as on her legs, and her response was, "But Mommy, the dollbabies have writing on their cheeks..." and sure enough, she brought me her cabbage patch dolls and they are signed on their bottoms...I had to giggle!
today Zoe was pushing her sister Christa around the house in a large box, and I heard her say, "Please keep your arms, legs and body inside the car at all times." hahahaha!
Christa had a few sneezes this morning at breakfast, and did a great job sneezing with her mouth closed into her upper sleeve except for one time she got caught off guard. Daddy now calls her the "egg canon." And apparently the sight of her sneezing her scambled eggs all over me and the table was more than the family could bear - they all laughed for quite a while!
Kayleigh told me when she was about 4 - "Mommy, Rumpelstilskin is a funny name, because his last name is 'skin'..."
Christa routinely calls Wal Mart 'War Mart' And I love it too much to work on correcting it!
Kayleigh asked me today while we were reading a book, "Mommy, can you turn it up a little please?" She wanted me to speak louder as I was reading ;D
Zoe asked me what a morsel was. I explained. We've been doing some aesops fables schoolwise, so she said, "No, mommy, what's the morsel of the story? You know...the part that you are supposed to remember and learn from?" AHA. the MORAL. LOL thought it was cute, b/c to me, a moral can be a morsel!
I was reading in Genesis, about how Jacob was getting ready to leave Laban and was gathering all his things to leave. At that moment I was reading a list of things he was gathering, Zoe called out,"Mommy! I found my enchilada!" (referring to her play food thankfully) and then when I went back to reading, I was recapping in my mind what I had read and **really** thought that Jacob had gathered his goats, his lambs, and his enchiladas......tired brain?
Kayleigh wanted to have her babydolls back after they had been taken away for disciplining purposes. Her argument was that she was practicing to be a good mommy when she grew up and clearly told me, "Mommy, it's not being a good mommy to keep your children and babies locked up in a bag upstairs all alone."
One night, after my stating that I would be setting up the 'humidifier' Christa, 3 yo, promptly jumped up and down and said, "Mommy!! Can we get out the marshmallows too?" Not knowing exactly what she was thinking, I was glad Zoe chimed in and said, "No Christa, not the FIRE on the grill,...the HUMIDIFIER, it sounds like fire, but it's not the same." Whew, glad she was on pointe!

Children-'isms...

Christa says, "Mommy, YESTERNIGHT, I did..." and it's so hard to correct, b/c it's so cute, and it really does make more sense to me than saying 'last night'!
Kayleigh says, "This one is the smallest, this one is the largest, and this one is the middle-est." HHAHAAA
Christa is learning about some musical instruments for the first time, and can't seem to stop calling the "Cello" the JELLO. bwaaahaaahaha!
Kayleigh was asking how old we were *again* last night. Daddy told her how old he was, and then told her how old I was. Kayleigh's immediate reply was, "39? That's almost 100!" :P
Christa says - when her nose is stuffy - "Mommy, my nose is not working!"
Christa says: "Mommy, on my last birthday I turned into three. On my next birthday, I will turn into four."
Christa has a 'thing' she does when we go down for quiet time...she wants to hide under the covers and have me look away while she does it. She has me look in all the 'other' places, like behind the tv, under the bed, in the closet, while she giggles under the covers and waits for me to pull back the covers and reveal her...it's a 'you have to be there' sort of thing, but I wanted to preserve it here on our blog/journal of sorts and print it out for when she is older ;)

Mommy Funnies!

last night I served egg rolls, and what I *thought* was duck sauce. My husband was gracious enough to eat the egg rolls and not say much, till almost through the meal I commented on how the duck sauce tasted a bit different. Doug said it tasted sweet and sour, well I had served the wrong bottle, it was indeed sweet and sour sauce we ate with our egg rolls. :P YUCK!
on April Fools day, we had daddy going :) I called him and told him that I had gotten gum in my hair and we had to go get it cut out, and it would be *short*. Since my hair is down to my rear, that's a lot of loss of hair! He handled it all in stride that it would be gone, was very calm and collected (as I usually am not!) but realized when he got home that I still had all my hair:) The children egged me on to do even more 'foolin' but I thought that was enough! He admitted that we really got him, ah what a feat! I didn't think Daddy could be gotten...
yesterday I washed a whole bottle of fabric softener in a load of laundry. I don't mean a bottle's worth of liquid, I mean the WHOLE BOTTLE! It caved a little during the spin cycle and was about half empty by the time it almost went into the dryer....
tonite I was putting the wash from the washer to the dryer and found, not one...but TWO dog toys in with the laundry..!!!!?!??!??!?!? How did THAT happen?
